For nearly 2000 years the words of Paul have been a challenge to men who choose to marry. “Love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for her.” But I am afraid that too often we have noted that this sentence is really an amazing expectation of God for men, and then we have moved on to preach or teach on what it means for women to submit to their husbands. That is it. I just heard a message recently in our church and that is exactly what happened! So I am glad that God has kindly allowed me to submit this study of what I believe God has in mind for husbands to do in order to obey this command. This short study is full of practical applications of the gospel to real life in marriage.
